I know the story behind this and its deplorable. This kind of behavior represents and perpetuates the primary issue that plagues our business: everybody thinks they’re a social media guru/maven/specialist.
Seriously, enough is enough. It’s time for professionalism and accountability to reign supreme.
And what exactly makes a great referral? If someone has a following on Twitter and has published a book and says “so and so is great” — would you hire them?
I did…..and the layers of problems as a result of that decision seem to never end.
All I’m saying is be careful about who you hire, and who you recommend. It’s amazing how some people talk the talk…..but there is nothing there after they get the check, or even worse, they are frauds.
